Flying
Bulwer is well known internationally as one of South
Africa's top paragliding and Hang gliding sites.
Anyone seeking a burst of adrenaline, vicarious or
otherwise, would be sorry not to drive the road up to
the top of the mountain, where you can watch the
pilots readying for takeoff.
Or for the more adventurous still, take a tandem
flight and maybe encounter some Cape Vultures,
Lammergeyer's and Black and Crested Eagles in
the air. If you like what you see you can arrange a
training course in either Hang gliding or Paragliding
from one the experienced Bulwer licensed instructors.
Rides for all levels of skill, are available every day to
different places of beauty and interest around the
mountain and in the surrounding conservancies.
Bulwer is also training base and home to Mountney’s
Reining Horses, Bulwer’s Jill, Tazelle and Delta Ward
brought home three championship trophies at the
recent 2010 Horse of theYear Show.
Hiking is always popular with a variety of trails of
differing difficulty to see the waterfalls, caves and
bushman paintings, There is a quarry with ancient
fossils and also plenty of Mountain bike routes to
explore around the area.
